Bridesmaids
Diana aka Dee
I met Dee back in what was more than likely another lifetime when they were both living in Maryland, not far outside D.C. We were part of a very strange group of friends who probably knew each other far too well on multiple levels. We both moved to various other places and hooked back up a little over a year ago when Dee moved down to Austin. As my Mama puts it, we call each other on stuff, which is a good thing to have in a girlfriend. We also have sibling cats named Maggie and Tex…can you guess who belongs to whom?
Sara Elizabeth
I always wanted a sister and with the advent of the new combined family when I was 16 I got one. Oddly, I'd known Sara most of her life as Sara's dad and my Mama had been best friends since they were in high school. Sara is one of the brightest and most beautiful people I've ever met and I'm exceptionally lucky to be able to call her my sister. Oh, and I'm the only person who calls her Sara Elizabeth but that's mainly because she lets me plus it reminds me that we have the same initials and my middle name is the French version of hers.
Tina aka T
I did not intend to like T. I was pretty darn set against it when I moved to Seattle back in 1998. We were both members in a tight group of friends who kept in touch online more often than not. We got together for drinks one evening in Kirkland. She had pink eye. We hit it off immediately and she proceeded to take care of me through the ups and downs of my stay in Washington State. She came to visit more than once and became one of the Cherry Island kids. In my opinion the best things about all of Washington State are her and her daughter.
Karen
Now here's a story for you. Way way long ago in a teeny town in the panhandle of West Virginia I ran into this phenomenal tall blonde lady named Karen. I worked in the same shoppe as her sister for a little while. She introduced me to her best friend since high school who has become over the years one of my nearest and dearest. I have never met anyone in my life who is so positive about me. She flatters me with her words and actions and her unwaivering belief that I am one of the very best people on the planet.
Jennifer
Jenn is Chris' sister. She completely accepted me into the Jones family from the moment that Chris took me home to meet them all. She loans me books which is great because we read similar things and go through them at about the same speed. I can sit and talk with her for forever in the parent's garage. She also is the mother to two of the best kids I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. I look forward to being a part of her family.
